BISC was established in 1976 and has a reputation as one of the most successful schools in the Middle East. We teach boys and girls aged 2-18, with the majority of our students from Egypt, and our school's mission is to be a vibrant international community that promotes independent learning to develop global citizens.
We are based on a purpose built, state-of-the-art campus, 30 minutes West of the city centre. We are surrounded by high quality housing and facilities, though the hustle and bustle of downtown Cairo - and the pyramids - are not far away and easily accessible.
We follow the British curriculum, with a track record of academic success as well as a strong focus on pastoral care. We are an active IB World School, a member of COBIS and BSME, and thus the school provides a holistic education in a supportive and caring environment. We are a non-denominational school, and we welcome students from all faiths and traditions, embracing the principles of open-mindedness and understanding.
BISC is a large school with over 1,150 students across our Foundation Stage, Junior and Senior Schools. Up to Key Stage 3, we follow the EYFS leading to the National Curriculum for England, with modifications to reflect the particular geographical and cultural circumstances of Egypt. In the Junior School, teachers receive specialist support in a variety of subjects and all classes have a bilingual Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher. With the exception of Arabic, all classes are in English, which many children speak at home, and children make excellent progress in their language development. The School takes advantage of the history, culture and geography of Egypt through a range of offsite trips and activities.
At Key Stage 4, students are prepared for GCSE and IGCSE examinations with the majority of students choosing to study the full IB Diploma. Our results are above the global average and the majority of our students go on to attend universities in the UK and USA.
Our package for teachers is amongst the best in the world, with tax-free salaries paid in Pound Sterling. Each teacher receives a generous housing allowance, as well as free annual return flights, BUPA gold healthcare, and a large budget for CLD. Above all we offer a friendly and supportive environment for you to grow as a professional with like-minded professionals.
Finally, further details of our school can be found on the school's website, but if you have any queries please contact the Human Resources Department by email, using hr@bisc.edu.eg.
We look forward to hearing from you.
