Are you an enthusiastic and talented teacher of Religious Studies wanting to teach classes across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 in a great school and a well resourced and successful department?

Sackville School is a popular and oversubscribed large, mixed, 11-18 comprehensive with 1650 students on roll.  We are looking for someone with the skills, enthusiasm, and ambition to join our team and to achieve our ambitious aims for all our students. This vacancy is the result of the retirement of a well loved and long serving colleague.

Our GCSE results are consistently strong with above average progress 8 and strong progress in many subjects in the Sixth Form. Religious Studies is a consistently high-performing team at GCSE and A level.

The department is very well resourced and has its own suite of classrooms and staffroom. There is strong collaboration and support amongst the team, with joint planning and CPD at the centre of team meetings.

Sackville School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form, situated in East Grinstead, West Sussex. There are approximately 1700 students at the school between 11-18 years.

Sackville School was founded in 1857 and has been on its current site since 1964.

The good curriculum offers all students the chance to succeed with adapted subject options for low attainers and some students with special educational needs. Visits to a Forest School are very successful for those who find mainstream lessons difficult. Others benefit from extra time spent on English and mathematics or, in Year 10, a work-related programme. The latter reflects the school’s strong promotion of equality of opportunity and its firm anti-discrimination stance”.
