Great Oaks College is an expanding specialist independent college in its third year of operation. We are located within Oaklands School, a new state-of-the-art, purpose-built premises located in Gresham Road, Hounslow, close to Osterley Tube Station. However, in September 2025 we are relocating to a new building in Sunbury (Surrey).The college provides further educational opportunities to students aged 19-24 with moderate, severe, profound

and multiple learning difficulties or autism. We run three Pathways, Vocational, Life and Living and Engagement

for Life.

We are looking to employ a Teaching Assistant to our team. We are interested to hear from you if you have an

NVQ3 in a relevant subject and have worked in a special college or specialist school before. You will have

previous experience and be familiar with using Makaton signing and symbols for communication and essentially

have experience of working with students with autism and complex needs.

Pay Scale: Scale 6, point 16 to 20 £34,779 to 36,888 per annum pro rata

Actual Salary: £26,195 to £27,784 per annum

Hours of work: 31.25 hours per week (excluding 45 min breaks), 08:30 – 15:30. (Monday to Friday). Due

to the college’s opening hours, we are unable to offer flexibility in the hours of work. Working 39 weeks in a year.

Great Oaks College is a new specialist independent college new state of the art, purpose built premises located in Gresham Road, Hounslow. We are close to Osterley Tube Station and public transport routes and just fifteen minutes walk from Hounslow bus station. The college provides further educational opportunities to students aged 19-24 that have moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties or autism.

We run three Pathways within Great Oaks College. The Life Skills Pathway is for young people who need to remain in education to develop skills for supported living. The Vocational Pathway supports our students to develop the skills they require to gain employment. The Sensory Pathway supports students that have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Within this course, students are supported to develop their communication, ICT and independence skills.
