We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our wonderful school so that we can further enhance our provision for pupils with SEND and those who need additional support.
At Woodlands, each year group has a designated ‘nurture’ provision to provide a highly supported and adapted provision for learners requiring additional support. Our Teaching Assistants work closely with the nurture group students to provide support across their range of subjects.
We are looking for someone who:
· Is patient, caring and empathetic
· Has high expectations of young people and believes that everyone can reach their potential with the right support
· Is able to work well as part of a team
· Is able to use their initiative
· Has a good sense of humour and has a positive outlook
· Is competent in literacy and numeracy
· Has relevant experience, OR the desire to work with young people with additional needs
The successful candidate will be expected to:
· Work within the nurture group provisions (year group TBC) to provide individual and small group support in a range of lessons
· Assist in ensuring pupils stay on task and complete learning tasks set by the teacher
· Provide support to manage children’s social and emotional needs in conjunction with the class teacher and pastoral teams
· Provide feedback to the children in conjunction with the class teacher
· Plan and deliver interventions to support the children in making good progress
· Have a good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
· Monitor students’ individual targets from education health care plans
