The academy is based in Spilsby, an historic market town nestling between the beautiful Lincolnshire coastline and the rolling Lincolnshire Wolds. It is also within driving distance of several Market towns and the larger towns of Boston, Grimsby and the city of Lincoln. The academy is currently attracting students from a wide catchment area from Skegness, the surrounding area and as far as Boston, Alford and Louth.
The proportion of students who are disadvantaged (44%) and the proportion of students with SEND (28%) is above the national average. The proportion of students with an education, health and care plan is below average (3%).

About the role
- To manage and support our students, to help overcome barriers to learning and behaviour to achieve their full potential.
- To support staff and students across the Academy.
- To support students who require it, in small groups and have a range of SEND/Behavioural needs.
- Assist with the supervision of students out of lesson time but during the school day, within contracted hours as necessary for their safety.
- Assist with the general pastoral care of students, including helping students who are unwell, distressed or unsettled.
- Ability to provide necessary personal care to students.
- Accompany teaching staff and students on visits, trips, and out of school activities within contracted hours as required.
- Attend relevant meetings and participate in training opportunities and professional development as required.
This is a permanent post, 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

Who we are looking for
- An interest in working with relevant age groups within a learning environment
- An interest in working with children with additional needs
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability and willingness to identify own training needs and participate in training
- Ability to provide necessary personal care to children
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Able to use basic IT including computer, audio, video equipment and photocopier

The trust has made a strong contribution to improving the school's facilities, strengthening its leadership and improving the quality of teaching. Pupils' achievement has improved since the last inspection, especially in English, Mathematics and Science. Pupils made good progress in these subjects last year.
