The Theatre Technician will work in a small flexible team alongside the 4 drama teachers.

The Drama Department is widely perceived as a flagship department with a high profile both in school and in the local community. Productions are renowned for their professionalism and high quality in terms of acting, directing and technical support. The department currently consists of five Teachers, a Technical Manager and a Theatre Technician. LAMDA is also flourishing with over two hundred students taking extra-curricular lessons with our three LAMDA teachers who are all professional actors.

A further Equality and Diversity Committee has recently been formed from our student population.

We are committed to attracting and retaining the very best staff, ensuring that our staff body reflects the diversity of our students and local community. Acknowledging a lack of ethnic diversity within our staff community, we particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates for this role. All appointments will be made on merit, following a fair and transparent process. In line with the Equality Act 2010, however, the School may employ positive action where diverse candidates can demonstrate their ability to perform the role equally well.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, online checks and two satisfactory references.

Welcome to Latymer Upper School. We are a vibrant, forward-thinking and co-educational independent secondary school in West London. Established in 1624 by the generosity of Edward Latymer and located in Hammersmith since 1895, the School upholds its founding principles of generosity and educational excellence.

With around 1,400 students, the success of our Inspiring Minds campaign started by the Latymer Foundation in 2017, means that by the end of our 400th year, we will be in a position to offer one in four students a bursary.

Latymer Upper School is at the forefront of education reform and from 2027, our bespoke Middle School curriculum will replace traditional GCSEs. This innovative approach will develop critical thinking, resilience, collaboration, creativity and problem-solving, preparing them for the independent learning required at A-level. Our students go on to secure places at prestigious universities including Oxbridge, North American and European institutions and are well set for success in the modern workplace.

We foster a welcoming and cosmopolitan environment and our commitment to individualised education ensures that Latymerians are not only highly academic but also well-rounded, grounded individuals.

We are also really proud to have teachers who help raise generations of young people to be passionate about their learning, students who support each other and a network of loyal Latymerian alumni.

To find out more about our School and our ambitions for Curriculum Reform, please visit our website and consider joining a community dedicated to inspiring minds and transforming lives.
