Job overview

Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust (FMAT) is looking for an enthusiastic Trust Teacher to join the team from 1 January 2025. Located at any one of our Academies, you will lead by example in the classroom and contribute to the work of the Mathematics team to ensure excellent outcomes for our students. If you are an outstanding Teacher with drive, resilience and ambition, then we would love to hear from you.

We welcome applicants from candidates looking to move into Maths from another specialism. If you're already an experienced, capable teacher with a passion for innovation and a determination to help children overcome obstacles to learning, we can support you make the subject switch.

To join us, you’ll need a good track record in teaching any subject plus a lifelong love of numbers. We’ll do the rest. Because what really matters is your attitude and the way you see the world. We see it as a place where young people from every background should have the same chance of success – a place where barriers to learning are dismantled and where outcomes depend on people’s potential, not their postcode.

Our mission is to enrich lives and transform futures. Every day, we go the extra mile to make this happen across our four academies within the West Midlands. We’ll do the same for you via comprehensive training and tailored professional development, delivered via our dedicated in-house unit to make you the Maths Teacher you’ve always wanted to be. This is a particularly exciting time to join our Trust, and this post represents an increase in FMAT’s School Improvement Team.

This challenging and rewarding role requires an individual who is inspirational, passionate and highly effective. Those who work for our Trust do so because they are values-driven, having our students’ best interests at heart.

As part of FMAT, you can help us inspire and enable young people to build successful lives and benefit from outstanding learning. CPD opportunities for those wanting to move into senior leadership and/or more senior Trust roles in the future will be offered, alongside a range of high-quality training and leadership opportunities, including a current partnership with Ambition School Leadership, enhancing learning and teaching.

In return, you'll enjoy an amazing package, including a local government or teacher’s pension, a wide-ranging employee assistance programme, the Perkbox wellness hub and discount platform, salary sacrifice options, green car and cycle-to-work schemes, onsite parking, free flu jabs, fitness initiatives and more. And if you have your own children, they’ll benefit from priority admission to the academy of your choice, so you’ll be able to pass your success to the next generation.

Closing date: 9.00am on 17 October 2024.

Interview date: 22 October 2024.

Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as well as providing evidence of qualifications.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020). Fairfax Multi Academy Trust is a family of schools aiming to develop articulate, resilient and ambitious students, regardless of background, with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to excel in modern Britain.   We want the very best for all our students across the trust because we believe that demographics should not determine destiny.

We have over 3000 students across our four campuses around the city of Birmingham and almost half of those students are eligible for free school meals. We believe that every child deserves the same high standard of education to change their lives.

Each of our four campuses across the city of Birmingham has a traditional approach with old-fashioned values where courtesy, manners and respect are central . You can find live vacancies by clicking on our campus pages below:
