Gems Founders School Al Mizhar are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice Principal to provide professional leadership and management across our school. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality teaching, effective use of resources, and the improvement of student outcomes within the school. You will work closely with the Principal/CEO and school leadership team to achieve our vision to help our people Grow, Flourish and develop a sense of Mindfulness.

 As Vice Principal, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the direction and success of the school. Your main responsibilities will include:

Leadership & Management

  • Lead and manage the teaching staff to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Supervise and mentor Heads of School, supporting their professional growth and identifying their development needs.
  • Support the Principal in the development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan.
  • Provide guidance to staff and ensure the implementation of high teaching and learning standards.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to address student achievement and teacher performance issues.

Organisational Development

  • Promote a collaborative and supportive school environment that encourages digital transformation and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider community.
  • Ensure effective communication of educational initiatives to parents and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other schools in our cluster, the GEMS network and educational leaders to share best practices.

Student Achievement

  • Drive improvements in student achievement across core subjects, including Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Social Studies.
  • Monitor and analyse student performance data and lead efforts to make necessary adjustments to teaching and learning strategies.
  • Work closely with the Principal / Vice Principal (Academic / Administration) / Cluster Leaders / Heads of School and Student Services to ensure that students with Special Educational Needs receive the appropriate support.

Curriculum & Teaching

  • Ensure that teaching staff implement high-quality instructional practices aligned with national and international standards.
  • Facilitate the curriculum of the future, evidence-based pedagogy, and the development of cross-subject learning opportunities.
  • Oversee the assessment and moderation processes to ensure fair and accurate student grading.

School Culture & Well-being

  • Develop and implement strategies for positive student behaviour and social development rooted in The GFM Way
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment for students, ensuring their personal and academic well-being is regularly monitored.
  • Take an active role in managing school discipline and resolving any issues that arise.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within an educational setting, ideally as a Vice Principal, Assistant Principal, or Department Head.
  • Strong understanding of the curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to improving student achievement and teacher performance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders

About GEMS Founders Mizhar School

GEMS Founders Al Mizhar School (GFM) is a value for money National Curriculum of England School which opened in September 2018 modelled on the highly successful GEMS Founders Dubai School. It educates students from FS1 to Year 13.

The school has a focus on high academic standards, computational thinking, social and emotional Education as well as inclusivity to allow all students to succeed through a range of academic and vocational pathways.
