An ability to teach across a range of styles will be helpful, though not essential. Similarly, there may be opportunities to run ensembles in the school.

  • Set practice targets regularly to consolidate and extend learning and to encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning.
  • Prepare students for performance opportunities as required, such as gigs, concerts, GCSE and A Level examination performances.
  • Use positive behaviour management in an environment of mutual respect, allowing students to feel safe and secure, and promoting their self-esteem.
