Job Title: Welfare Team Member
Location: Oak Tree School, Truro
Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum
Hours: 42.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Welfare Team Member to join our close-knit team at Oak Tree School located in Truro.
Purpose of Job:
* To work under the instruction/guidance of the SLT / Welfare Team Leader
* To support the welfare, development, and behaviour of all pupils and staff, enabling access to learning for pupils and ensuring the application in the Basic Functioning of the school is being offered at a local level. Modelling best practice and approaches to all staff
* To support the accurate implementation of school policies, modelling a high standard of intervention when supporting pupils and staff
* To adhere to and support the structures in responding to Welfare Support Team requests.
* To function as an integral member of the Welfare Support Team, ensuring attendance at all relevant meetings representing the ethos and Values of Red Moor School
Knowledge and Understanding:
The position holder is to have knowledge and understanding of:
* The school’s aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies, and up to date practices to support students and staff.
* Any statutory curriculum requirements and the requirements for assessment, recording, and reporting of pupils.
* The implications of the code of practice of special educational needs for teaching and learning, to reduce students’ barriers to learning and education and psychological, physical, sensory, social communication and interaction development leading to all pupils achieving their full potential.
* The school and OFG Code of Conduct
* Support strategies to manage SEMH issues and challenging behaviour, such as Emotion Coaching, P.A.C.E approach and any other relevant and current strategies

Oak Tree School is a specialist SEMH provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 135 pupils and young people aged 5 to 18 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These pupils and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment. The aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, with pupils accessing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum to meet their significant needs.
