We are currently searching for a dedicated Well-Being Lead

Role and Responsibilities:

·       Embrace and encourage the ethos, values, culture, and standards of excellence of the (Un School).

·       Educate the school team in developing strategies to create a consistently physically and mentally healthy environment for the whole community.

·       Play a key role in setting a culture within the school that promotes openness and understanding to normalise physical and mental health and its fluctuations throughout life. 

·       Support and champion activities that promote safeguarding and wellbeing across the school. 

·       Offer experienced pastoral support to all learners and staff.

·       Work directly with learners if and when necessary, on matters around the development of learning strategies to meet their specificcognitive needs.

·       Develop curricula the supports the healthy growth and development of the learners in our learning community.

·       Coach Learning Guides in the use of all tools, approaches and curricular materials related to well-being.

·       Engage in mentoring and supporting others in the academic team to support well-being initiatives, including meeting with parents and caregivers.

·       Develop and implement robust policies and procedures that ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students, staff, and visitors.

·       Carry out regular check ins and create guidelines for safe spaces and protocols for meetings to allow for honest and transparent communication throughout the school.

·       Assist in identifying needs, determining potential risks, and coordinating support or referral to ensure learners have timely access to effective mental health support when needed.

·       Work alongside school team members, parents, and caregivers in regular workshops to build a shared understanding of the role of well-being in our community and, more broadly, in our lives.

·       Become deeply ingrained in all aspects of our learning community, including engaging with families, events, initiatives, and programs.  

·       Demonstrate care and professionalism to support the wellbeing of the team and learning community.

·       Use research data on well-being trends, stay well-informed of new developments in well-being initiatives and provide leadership in determining their appropriateness for inclusion in the school well-being program.  


Requirements

·        A formal qualification in well-being or counselling would be advantageous.

·       Extensive experience and expertise in promoting and supporting healthy lifestyle choices and a deep understanding of the importance of well-being.

·       Ideally leadership experience in well-being as a member of the SLT in innovative, forward thinking, and unconventional, non -traditional school environments.

·       Fluent in English and ideally fluent in Arabic and have lived in (or currently reside in) the UAE.  

·       Ability to work collaboratively with the school whole team and wider learning community.

·       Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

·       Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.

·       Flexible, and adaptable with a growth mindset and a willingness to learn and improve.

·        Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

·       Passionate about education and a desire to create positive change in the lives of learners and their families.
