**When Drama Club Goes Bad by A.J Keane ** A fun play for KS3 and 4, has many opportunities to use slapstick and explore drama techniques such as flashback and slow motion so a really nice way to study scripted drama. The play is a farcical comedy murder mystery set over the course of one evening in one school theatre space. As the action takes place in a school drama studio it is really easy to perform with no extra tech requirements than what you have in your space. *A drama club’s opening performance of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ abruptly turns into a murder investigation, it’s up to the students and a useless detective to work out ‘who dunnit’. Performers and audience alike are under suspicion as an evening of chaos unfolds.

An introduction to key stage 3 drama focusing on techniques. This six lesson scheme of work is designed with year 7 in mind although it could be used for year 6 primary or as a structure for a drama club. The focus is on how students should conduct themselves in a drama lesson and how they can use some of the creative techniques in response to stimulus. This will give students the basic foundations of drama so that they may go on to study it further. The scheme includes a powerpoint and lesson plan for each week and can be tweaked to suit individual teacher style.

A scheme of work for KS3 that aims to give students an overview of several Shakespeare’s works. Works covered are ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, Comedy of Errors’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘Richard II’, ‘Richard III’ and ‘Sonnet 18’. Each PowerPoint has a selection of differentiated tasks, teachers can use all of the tasks for more able groups or select a few depending on the ability of the group. There is also a written task that could be used for extention tasks or even part of cover. Any suggestions/feedback is welcomed!
