MYP1 Visual Art: Egyptian Poly-block printing

(0)
An MYP Visual Art unit presentation with research tasks and instructions for criteria A, design ideas for criteria B, printmaking instructions for criteria C and some reflection tasks for criteria D. In this unit grade 6 students researched Egyptian Art, came up with ideas for an Egyptian style block print, carved a polystyrene block to create the printing plate and then created a series of multiple layered prints (for criteria C) I suggest using thin polystyrene blocks with grade 6, however the unit can be adapted for grade 7 and lino blocks can be used for prints which are more refined and detailed.

MYP3 Visual Art slides: Portraits unit

(0)
Unit presentation slides (32 slides in total with specific tasks) for a Visual Art unit based on portraiture. There are summative tasks for each of the 4 criteria, along with images, information, Art History, and ceramic video tutorials. In this unit students explore the human face and figure through drawing, mono printing, painting and ceramics. The final outcome for criteria C is an expressive ceramic portrait which is then painted with acrylic paint (however this can be adapted for glazing) There are guiding questions for the criteria A research summative and the criteria D reflection summative. I did this with grade 8 however it can work with grade 9!

GCSE Art student guide

A guide to help GCSE students achieve top grades. The presentation includes tips on how to present work, how to respond to artists, and how to develop ideas in response to a theme. The assessment objectives are explained in a simple way and there are a good quality examples of level 9 visuals, sketchbook pages, planning pages and studio pieces. There is a list of helpful websites on the final page. The guide is based on Edexcel GCSE Art but it can be helpful for any GCSE students who want to improve their skills and develop ideas. I have been using this for years with my students and I have taught a range of different curriculums with excellent results.

The entire coursework project is in this presentation, along with full annotations on each slide to explain what the student has done and why. Close up images of each A2 board are also featured. The work is extremely high quality and this is a good resource to show A level students so they can understand what they need to do to reach top marks, and how they can set out their boards before the work is sent off for moderation. The presentation is in PPT format.
