It could be used with able students that are transitioning from KS3 to GCSE as an option at KS4.</p> <p>It can also be used to give students confidence with programming because it allows students to work creatively or to copy what is in the workbook to create a solution. This prevents students that struggle with computational thinking from getting stuck and not moving forward.</p> <p>A collection Practical Python Skills that progress towards those needed to complete the GCSE Computer Science Practical Exam for EdExcel. The resource combines example Python code with brief explanations of what they are doing. The resource is simple and will aid teachers in explaining Python Programming confidently. It would be a good resource for teachers to practice before delivering Python to students. It would also be a good resource for enabling independent students to ensure they have secure knowledge in each aspect of Python Programming on their own.</p> <p>Members of staff that don’t have time to learn Python in their own time will benefit from being able to see clear practical examples of Python Programming and allowing students to work ahead.</p>

<p>A collection of 29 files in total that can be used as Do Now / Starter / Plenary / Stretch and Challenge Activities. You can allow students to independently attempt the Practical Python Challenges to adapt the skills needed to complete the GCSE Computer Science Practical Exam for EdExcel. You can also live teach, demonstrate or use as learning opportunities to explore the source code together. The resources combine Explanations of tasks for students to go and attempt with completed source code you can use to show how it could be done. It also contains example Python code with brief explanations of what they could be doing. The resource is simple to use and will aid teachers in covering the skills required in the specification for Python Programming confidently if you don’t have time to invent relevant tasks that can be adapted. It would be a good resource for teachers to practice before delivering Python to students. It would also be a good resource for enabling independent students to ensure they have secure knowledge in each aspect of Python Programming on their own.</p> <p>There are a mixture of Word documents to promote indepent learning as well as Python source code with #comment directions that mirrors how tasks are posed in the real GCSE Programming exam.</p> <p>8 x Programming Challenge Activities with Source Code Solutions (21 Files in total)<br /> 8 x Help / Demonstration Source Code Files<br /> 29 x Files in Total</p> <p>Members of staff that don’t have time to learn Python in their own time will benefit from being able to see clear practical examples of Python Programming Source code.</p> <p>I created these activites for use on Moodle as starter activities, after 20 minutes we would then work together to solve them.
