I have condensed onto a single page document the key points from the AQA Higher writing mark scheme. Both the 90 and 150 word questions are covered. I have shared this with my current Year 11s to guide them in their independent writing revision.

A worksheet developed for Year 9 GCSE French to introduce the topic of pros and cons of different jobs. The text is adapted from an article in Le Parisien Etudiant about the top 10 and bottom 10 jobs in 2017. Designed as a revision worksheet for KS4 students. Some activities focus on how to use adjective endings correctly, and others give students to opportunity to put the rules into practice. Final exercise focusses on using adjective endings with verbs in the perfect tense. Answers are included. (For those that don't appear, change the text colour from white).

Students work in groups to answer 16 quiz questions about the Rio Olympics. The quiz uses the simple future tense and students are expected to produce full sentence answers in the simple future tense to answer. PowerPoint showing the quiz questions and answers. Answers are as accurate as I can make them. I had planned to use this with my Year 8 French group, but I'm sure it can be adapted to suit most Key Stages.

This 15-20 minute assembly is aimed at educating students about the pros, but mainly the cons of using Google Translate when completing MFL class work and homework. The word document contains a basic script and the video links which I used alongside the PowerPoint. This resource was designed for a Year 9 group, who are learning about illness and injury. We have just covered the formation of the imperative and I wanted to link it back to the theme of health. The worksheet revises some medical problems, covers using ‘depuis’ to say how long you have been ill for, and finishes with an exercise which requires pupils to give advice as if they were a doctor.

I used this lesson with a Year 9 group. The aim of the lesson is to formulate questions which could be used in a tourist information office in Germany. I plan to move on to a first look at a GCSE roleplay based in a tourist office next lesson. (Thanks to rhawkes and sagramor for some initial ideas).

Loosely linked to the GCSE topic of relationships, the extracts mention marriage, relationships between parents and their children, and parenting styles. There is also some good use of the imperfect tense which could be exploited. Answers are also available.
