Simple crossword based on the life and work of Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama.

This is a handout for students to promote independent artist research and analysis skills and has been created to analyse a piece by the Pop Artist, Roy Lichtenstein, but could easily be adapted to discuss another artist's work. Designed for KS3 art but could be used for KS4 too. This worksheet was set as a homework task during a Pop Art topic. This worksheet has been produced on Microsoft Word.

This PowerPoint features a range of photographs of different black and white mark making experiments where a number of different media and surfaces have been explored e.g. paint, ink, mod roc, tissue paper etc. Each slide has a photograph and information of the media, tools and equipment and surfaces used. This was made to support Year 12 fine art students with the start of their Personal Investigation but could also be used with GCSE students if and when appropriate. Also included is an A4 handout with guidance on annotating media trials.

This resource was developed for an SEN student in one of my year 9 art classes. The student can match the words to the correct pictures, add colour and also work with the teacher, TA or other students to find the different pieces of equipment around the classroom. I anticipate that this resource could also be used with younger students.

This double sided A4 hand-out provides advice for students who are analysing/annotating their own artwork. The hand-out also includes an example. This hand-out was developed for A Level art students however would also be suitable for high ability GCSE art students.

This guide has been produced on Publisher and is a double sided A4 document which can be folded into a pamphlet. The guide has been made to support A Level students with their artist research and in particular, encourages them to be more independent learners and to also investigate a range of sources such as books, blogs, art galleries and TV programmes. There is a list of local galleries on the document (based in Bedfordshire, UK) but this section could be adapted to accommodate the museums and galleries in your school's local area. I have previously handed these out to students and I also have one on display in my classroom. This resource could also be suitable for higher ability GCSE art students.

This resource has been made on Publisher and includes a written description of the homework task, a blank copy of the template and a completed example using the Pop Artist Andy Warhol. The template is set out in a similar fashion to Facebook. The artist can be easily adapted to suit your current SOW (we are currently using this homework task for our project on Banksy). This worksheet is currently used with year 9 art students. This task could be set for homework or used in class if there is access to computers.

I created this needs audit for new students in Year 12 fine art to complete during their first lesson. It enables me to find to find out about their strengths and weaknesses and also any possible barriers to their learning, and therefore plan my scheme of work accordingly.

This resource has been designed for GCSE art. Included are 3 differentiated worksheets about types of paintbrushes. There is a visual matching activity at the top of the sheet and a written matching activity at the bottom; students will need to identify the brushes by both their appearance and their qualities. There is also a second page included with each differentiated worksheet, where students are required to label the different parts of the paintbrush e.g. handle, bristles, ferrule etc.

This publisher document includes annotation guidelines for tonal shaded studies, tonal line studies, colour pencil studies and mono prints. Each has bullet point prompts and key words to use. I have laminated a few sets of these annotation guides and have these available in my classroom for students to use as necessary. These are mostly used by my GCSE art students.

A sign which can be laminated and put on display near the sink area in your classroom to remind students to wash up their brushes, pots and pallets properly.
