Fully editable power point to provide feedback for results of your book marking. I usually select a random sample of books to mark to get an overview of attainment in the class. Each student receives a copy of this sheet after you have marked their books. There is a space to comment on the positives you have observed, ways to make make progress, and a quick DIRT task. I normally display this on the board and discuss spelling, punctuation, and grammar issues that I have noted so that students can make appropriate corrections.

An editable resource to provide a snapshot of your students’ progress. I use this template by selecting 5 books from a class to mark and making notes. Next, I use the three boxes to inform students about the positives I have seen, areas for improvement, and to provide an opportunity to address common misconceptions. I have covered all the punctuation marks in this PPT. There is one slide that explains the punctuation device and a quick activity, with a homework slide to follow it. I will also be using it for my lower KS4 students. I have assembled this from various sources.

These are three lessons created to cover the AQA Literature Paper 1 question for Macbeth. The lessons cover how to structure an essay when provided with an extract. The extracts used in the lessons are: A1, Sc 2 - The Sergeant’s Report A3, Sc 4 - Banquo’s Ghost A5, Sc 3 - Macbeth and the Servant’s Report The Power Points are fully editable. There are opportunities to discuss the themes, language, and context connected with the extract, as well as tips on how to plan the essay.

These are two lessons to support students in the English Language Paper 1 exam. They were created in the run up to their mock exams. Lesson 1 covers questions 1-3 for Paper 1. Lesson 2 covers question 5. There are some reminders, tips, and practise for the students.

This is a set of 22 Power Points that were created for delivering short 10 - 15 minute lessons during tutor time to KS3 classes. There are a combination of brain teasers, word games, and mini-lessons about various aspects of spelling punctuation and grammar. I have created a knowledge organiser to support spelling, punctuation, and grammar at KS3 and KS4. There are various ways this resource can be used, such as: setting revision for one box of information per week, having it on the students’ desks or in their exercise books for reference, using them for low stakes quizzes at the beginning of lessons, or putting on your school website for parents/carers to view and use to support home learning. This resource is fully editable on a Power Point. The information has been gathered based on common misconceptions at my school. This is an eight-part quiz that has been created to test knowledge of spelling, punctuation, and grammar for students at KS3, or KS4, depending on ability. There are a series of questions with multiple choice answers. Correct answers are provided. This resource is a fully editable Power Point and was created in conjunction with the SPaG Knowledge Organiser available on here; however, it can be used independently. Each section focuses on areas that have been identified as common misconceptions at my school.

This is a fully resourced, 25 lesson, scheme of work for studying Romeo and Juliet at KS3. The focus of the unit is to explore the notion of whether love is always a positive force. The scheme begins with some contextual background knowledge before going on to exploring the play through a series of extracts that highlight different types of love. Each lesson includes a Power Point with any resources included on the final slides. The resources are also contained within a booklet that can be printed for each student. There are a range of comparisons to modern day factors such as feminism, youth violence, and Fundamental British Values throughout the unit. A lesson I put together as part of an Introduction to Shakespeare SOW. This is a stand alone lesson based on insults created by Shakespeare, created for my mid ability Year 7 class. Includes some differentiation.

A series of 10 lessons created for my bottom set year 10s. Activities led to a controlled assessment where they had to write a letter. Some activities and resources taken from web address included. Be aware - PDF version of story is peppered with grammar and spelling errors, but was only version I could find online, however made another useful activity where students corrected errors they found!

A lesson I created using the sad short story Sadako's Cranes for Peace. PowerPoint includes links to videos and an activity to make a paper crane that students can write their own message of peace in.This was created alongside the CND material which has lots of activities included in the pack. Good for getting students to consider their own lives through literature.

This is a follow up lesson I did with my lower ability year 9s. We had already looked at literary devices, this lesson focuses on mainly metaphors and similes. Lots of visuals to aid lower ability groups, with challenge tasks to extend more able students.
