Focuses on reading comprehension, identififcation of language devices and scrutiny of technique. Differences in audience and purpose allow for comparisons between the texts.</p>
<p>This is the opening scene of Stave 1, annotated to show theme, structure, narrative voice, imagery and language. A brief commentary on the annotations allows students to identify techniques and analyse the effects within the passage. Key terms related to the annotations provide a platform to structure an evaluation of Dicken’s crafting of the opening section of A Christmas Carol.</p>

Includes a mind map of persuasive features and a writing scaffold for structuring the letter. Space has been left on the sheets to add ideas.</p>
