Goa Dog Foundation. Kindness Matters: “Cultivating a Compassionate Classroom”.

Hello, my name is Neil Riley, I am from the UK, and I have had the pleasure of working in secondary education and FE. During this time, I have been fortunate enough to work in the UK, UAE and India. In India I have used my creative music skills to engage with pupils in both primary and secondary schools and facilitated many workshops on the importance of being kind. I am also a trustee to the amazing Goa Dog Foundation (GDF).

GDF is a UK registered charity that works in animal welfare in the UK and India. Our small team works extremely hard to make a difference for every animal that comes into our care. A lot of our heart-breaking cases could have been prevented if people would be a little more compassionate and offered a token of kindness towards an animal in need.
We believe that through the power of education, we can make a difference, but we need your help. GDF needs you to use our lesson plan framework to share our great work and to get pupils to understand the importance of being kind to every kind. Feel free to adapt it to make it fit for purpose. We would also love to hear your feedback. You may also consider applying for a short voluntary project with us in India. Please visit our website or socials for more info.

Using this lesson plan and with your help, Goa Dog Foundation hopes to inspire pupils to become more compassionate towards animals and animal welfare.
Delivering a lesson on kindness is crucial as it fosters empathy, compassion and understanding. By teaching kindness, we cultivate a culture of respect and support, reducing conflicts and promoting how a small act of kindness to an animal is life changing for them.
Moreover, kindness is contagious, and more we are kind to animals, the planet and ourselves, the better the world is for us all.
Ultimately, instilling kindness in education molds individuals into empathetic and socially responsible members of society, contributing to a more compassionate world.

The first 5 0 schools to contact us will receive GDF merchandise / resource pack, which will be sent to your school to help promote Goa Dog Foundation’s work for animals in need. We will also donate a copy of The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and the Horse for you to keep in your school library.

This lesson can be adapted to suit all ages. We look forward to hearing from you.

Please remember to use our short animation film in the resource list for stimuli.

If you would like to be considered for the free GDF pack, please email goadogfoundation@gmail.com or request via our website/socials.

Many thanks
