Reading comprehension and grammar sheet based on two articles from Doctissimo for use in the FSL classroom. It targets vocab for nutrition/eating habits as well as reading, extrapolating and using impersonal expressions to give advice.
This reading and exercises are made for an IB French B class who is discussing the subject of migrations in the world. The article itself is not of super high level but it does need to be contextualised and can be used either as a déclencheur or simply for reading comprehension.
This is primarily for a lower level FLE class as the film is in French and English but it tells a very good story about Canadian culture and our love for hockey. The exercises are easy PC but the discussion questions can be used for higher levels. It is an excellent film and brings to light the French-English conflict in Canada and how it played out in the NHL at the time.
The music video is awesome, catchy, and shows clips of the Rocket and shows how much Habs fans love their team and the bilingual nature of Montreal.
This resource is a series of activities at the A2-B1 level, tailored for IB French B (Global Issues, Migrations, the Slave Trade). The comprehension activities are based on Youtube videos so you will need streaming capabilities or at least initial access to internet in order to do those components of the lesson.

This is a listening and comprehension activity based on a video about world hunger. It is best suited for FLE students at the A2-B1 level. You can easily modify by eliminating the available vocab choices on the bottom of the page or adding more questions de développement etc.

This is a resource for FLE classes who use the hockey sweater, a popular children's story about Quebec small town life for a boy in the 50s. It is easy but can easily be modified to make it more advanced. It is best done if you have already read the story in class and the discussions about Canadian culture and daily life can ensue..
This is a radio-Canada article from print and in radio clip format that can easily be used to build comprehension with students about sans-papiers who are living in Montréal. It is short and easy to use, the recording is nice and clear and the interview is almost a direct repetition of what was in the article - could be a day one, day two type activity to reinforce what was discussed the day before based on the reading...
This power point is for review during the IB French B Communications and Media or Technology units. It is a contextualized teacher review of the passé composé and the imparfait.
Projet d'écriture BI (Year 1) Fr B
This is a French writing project to go with the Health theme in IB. Students must research and create a brochure advising how to lead a healthy teen life. Students must use structures like the Imperative, Impersonal Expressions and the present tense to both give advice and justify that advice based on current facts about health.
This is a part of a whole lesson based on the film short Lily et le bonhomme de neige by Cinemax studios. It has simple vocab and is clear to hear. I never did catch one of the lines clearly: toutes me quatre me quittent - I know it is not quatre but couldn't figure out differently.
Joyeuse saison d'hiver tout le monde!
This project allows students to present orally with a neat, new visual aid (Prezi powerpoint). Students need to create their own accounts and it is really fun if the teacher has an interactive white board to toggle the slides with. My students did a great job and then had to answer spontaneous questions about sports or hobbies not presented at the end of the presentation. It was an excellent spoken production assignments and a great way to get to know my students.
