<p>LI: To calculate and consider my SPENDING and BUDGETING.</p> <p>This resource is great for IDL during a Jacobite/Scottish topic. Learners have been invited to a Jacobite party and they must choose garments to make a complete outfit. They must calculate their spending and then work within a budget making substitutions if they have overspent.</p> <p>Learners enjoy drawing out their outfit and adding price labels to their pictures. They are engaged and share their outcomes with the class during a plenary.</p>

<p>This is a resource I use to engage learners when the class novel is being read aloud. For each chapter there are questions which learners can a) verbally answer at the end of the chapter or b) write down in their jotters.</p>

<p>LI: To add prices in a real life context.</p> <p>Give your learners a budget and these prices to get food and accessories for a Burns Night party. Learners should consider substitutions they should make when going over budget or if they are under-budget they should consider another product. More able learners should consider how many people are invited to the party and multiply the prices accordingly.</p>

<p>Use this as a classroom excersise, with class examples to begin and then mild, spicy and hot challenges to follow.</p>

<p>Use this to practise using the box method to solve multiplication problems.</p>

<p>To start a topic about climate change, use this resource as a matching activity and to introduce some key vocabulary that learners will come across.</p>

<p>Differentiated comprehension resource. Learners can initially read as a class or partner reading and then independently answer questions.</p>

<p>Differentiated worksheet on number patterns/sequences. Ask your learners to spot the changes between the numbers in the sequences and then to figure out the next number in pattern.</p>

<p>A matching activity to help learners establish the connection between repeated addition and times tables. Each segment should be cut out and as a small group, they work together to match them altogether. For fast finishers, they can great a poster with their knowledge.</p>

<p>A differentiated worksheet to help learners see the patterns going on within their multiplications and to see if there are any patterns that can help them to recite their times tables fluently.</p>

<p>Great way to encourage teamwork amongst your learners at their tables. Depending on your current topic, insert these visuals so they can easily remember their team name and great for the teacher for classroom management.</p>
