This glossary includes key maths terms used within the classroom and exam questions. Entries within the glossary are relevant to KS3, KS4 and exam terminology. Every word is catergorised into either tier 2 or tier 3 vocabulary so students are able to see whether the word is a high frequency word or a subject specific word. The intention of this resource is to minimise cognitive load for students while also increasing their confidence and resilience. It has become apparent that the students that struggle to access exam questions, have limited vocabularies. While it is important to identify and explain vocabulary within each lesson, a student may not understand the definition of a word not covered within the lesson. This allows students to be able to independently find the definition.
