ESOL / English Functional Skills Scheme of Learning suitable for EAL and non-EAL learners
<p>This scheme of learning is designed to provide a structured approach to teaching ESOL to EAL students or English Functional Skills to both, EAL and non-EAL students, ensuring that learners acquire the necessary language skills needed for everyday communication and functional use of English.<br />
This scheme of learning serves as a comprehensive plan, guideline for teaching EAL students in their language development journey. It emphasizes practical skills required for everyday interactions and functional English, fostering confidence and competence in a variety of contexts.<br />
The curriculum is divided into six thematic units, each focusing on real-life contexts relevant to the students’ experiences. Within each unit, various language skills are targeted, including Grammar, Spelling, Writing, Reading, Speaking, and Listening.<br />
