I developed this over Easter as a way of alerting my own GCSE groups to common false friends, synonyms, antonyms, word groups etc commonly used by examiner to throw candidates into confusion, especially at Higher level.
I designed this for my Year 9 bottom set to introduce directions loosely based on a trip to Barcelona. The arrows and figures keep moving in the specific direction until the end of the slide so as to reinforce meaning

Like any Languages Teacher I get tired of the same old expressions over and over again e.g. Me gusta, es. I devised this sheet to encourage pupils to use new structure. Then I developed a worksheet for them to try it out and finally a powerpoint with answers on it. Upgrade - ups their grade and it is also a term they are familiar with as they are constantly upgrading their phones. More relevant to them than HIGHER LEVEL STRUCTURES

Resources about role models. Ariana Grande features following the Manchester bombing incidents. Based on Module 4 unit 5 of the edexcel textbook

Here are some Disney songs in Spanish that i have put on a powerpoint. I have trimmed the videos so that the words match what is on screen> you just have to press PLAY on each slide. i work in a Girls' School so Disney makes them melt. Probably not so good with Boys.
I have recently designed some crossword puzzles based on vocabulary for Mira 1 and 2. The accompanying sheets can be copied and cut into 6 so that photocopying is kept to a minimum. I have a lot more as I have enjoyed designing them but thought I would just upload a few for now and see if they are of use to anyone.
I have made quite a lot of these so that my pupils are on task as soon as they get through the door. I have previously uploaded a few and still have more to upload. the worksheets support the ppts and can be cut into 6 to save on paper. My pupils seem to enjoy them.

I developed this for an interview and it took hours. Then they changed the date of the interview and I couldn’t attend so I never got to teach it.

It is a lesson on environmental issues mainly using the structure hay que + infinitive. It comes with a ppt a worksheet and a help sheet (that can be cut into four parts.

Resources I have developed to teach the topic of holidays to Year 8 which introduces the Preterite tense (based on Viva 2 Module 1. I have also included resources in the future.

This is designed as a hand out of a the pupils’ folders to give them something to work through when the see a photo. It is also meant as a revision reources prior to the GCSE oral. It is design with the Edexcel spec in mind but would serve the same purpose for the other exam boards

I recently produced this for an interview where I had 25 minutes to teach writing skills on the topic of my choice.

I introduced it as a shop window saying that in order to succeed that had to put their best language in the display. It’s no go leaving the good stuff in the backroom and then complaining because you are unsuccessful. We had a quick run through categories such as connectives , opinions etc. Then I gave them a sheet that I can only describe as double translation so that at the end of the exercises they would have ‘what a good one looks like’.

I let them struggle for a while and then put up slide 5 which has the missing language. I would have let them struggle a bit longer but i only had 25 minutes

I developed this for an interview. It has a ppt which uses familiar app images to generate language as to what young people use the internet for.

It incorporates the ‘lo’ + adjective structure which is frequently overlooked by pupils and so easy to use.

It then looks at the dangers, risks etc that young people face online.

There is a ppt and a related worksheet

I wanted to create an introduction to être verbs (and solely être verbs) around a trip to Paris. I think this could be taught prior to the ‘avoir’ verbs, which might then come as a blessed relief after the être verbs. It comes with a ppt and two worksheets.

https://youtu.be/GljTvdEDqJM - TOP 10 Things to do in Paris

I used the video above which lasts around 8 minutes and takes them around Paris and its most famous attractions to get them going
