I made this to help my Y9, Y10 and Y11s better understand what they could use a dictionary for, and how. I made it with the Collins Easy Learning French-Eng/ Eng-French dictionary in mind. I've tried to make it so that the instructions guide pupils through the different stages, however I found that it worked much better as an accompaniment to oral instructions and demonstration, particularly towards the end as it gets quite 'wordy'.

A simple worksheet designed for my low ability Y10 group who are working on the topic of schools. I'd normally add pics etc to make it a little more user-friendly so please use and adapt as necessary.

A text-based activity requiring pupils to read through an authentic French text then do exercises based on comprehension and grammar before a more open-ended task asking them to discuss friendship. Good as a homework task perhaps. With grammar 'spotting' activity, page numbers refer to grammar points covered in the Nelson Thornes AQA French textbook, so you may wish to alter/ delete these if you use a different textbook.

Used this to introduce imperfect tense weather phrases to my Y8 class who had just studied weather in the present tense. Thanks to another TES user who created a present tense powerpoint and whose images I have used.

I made this to use with my Y12 class when dealing with the issue of good parenting/ relationships within the family. Based on the French version of The World's Strictest Parents. Includes a description in French (from official website) of the concept of the show. Then requires pupils to watch two videos detailing the rules of the host family, and asks them to reflect on whether this is a good/bad form of parenting.

Activities based on authentic text about why Loft Story contestants want to become famous, including useful vocab, true/false, general questions, essay title. Stimulus for discussion/ essay about the positives and negatives of celebrities.

A revision booklet designed with my low ability Y7 Spanish class in mind. Could be used as cover work . Includes a range of activities :(crossword/wordsearch/writing/ catagorising/ re-ordering etc).

Could be used when introducing the sub-topic 'Drugs'. Simple reading activity involving matching descriptions to types of drugs. Quite useful in terms of relevant vocab, with some reference to 'slang'.

Writing and Speaking Assessments based on our SoW which follows Expo 1 chapters. All assessments are in line with new GCSE requirements, and Foundation GCSE markschemes are included for each assessment, as well as teacher elements of role play/ photo card/ general conversation for speaking assessment. I'd highly recommend moderation of results within departments to decide on appropriate interpretation of GCSE markschemes at KS3. The first half term of each term sees students sitting speaking assessment, and the second sees them sitting writing assessment.

I made this reading activity for my low ability GCSE group to practise understanding job activities and places of work. Pupils cut out the descriptions (job activities and places) and stick them in the correct place in the main grid... hope this makes sense!

I have these laminated and freely available in class for when pupils need a little inspiration or support with Spanish writing. Also useful for the occasional starter eg. find out how to say ___/ find three new adjectives/ write down four past tense verbs etc. Includes sections on numbers/ dates/ frequency expressions/ connectives/ questions/ intensifiers/ opinions/ past/ present/ future. Translated from French to Spanish which is my second language, so please let me know of any mistakes.

Simple powerpoint designed to help Y7 pupils revise stage 1 FL Spelling Bee vocab. I use this in class as a You Say We Pay game (Richard and Judy style) - either in pairs or as a whole class. I've also uploaded it to my school&'s VLE so pupils can use it for independent revision at home. Stage 2,3, and 4 vocab to follow.

Thrown together quickly, but thought I’d share on here in case anyone finds themself with a lesson to fill in the run up to half term! There are two lessons here; I’ve put both on the same PPT, but they are separate lessons (first on PPT is KS4, second is KS3). Both are based on si clauses, helping students to say what they would do if they were king/ queen/ monarch.
