This lesson covers the food production section of ecology. (Spec point 4.7.5 Food production (biology only))
Areas of focus are food security, sustainable fishing, farming techniques and biotechnology. This can be split into 2 lessons if needed. (GM food is not included as it can be covered in inheritance, variation and evolution topic)
This lesson includes a variety of activities from food security group discussions to farming techniques cloze activity . Students are able to work independently or part of a group. There are multiple opportunities for students to apply their knowledge to exam questions with some differenciated between standard and high demand.
Video clips are embedded into images where mentioned and with URL’s and extra notes in notes section of the ppt slides.
