’The Arrival’ by Shaun Tan KS3 Drama Scheme of Work

This is a 6 week Drama scheme of work aimed at Year 8 students although could easily be adapted for any KS3 year group. I have planned for 6 weeks in the scheme but I have also completed it over a 7 week term as well - the assessment task can take an additional lesson.

The scheme has a focus on non-verbal communication and physical skills, covering different techniques that help to promote their awareness of these areas.

The scheme covers - non-verbal communication, whole class still image, ensemble movement, puppetry, working from a stimulus and use of short script extracts.

The resources does include photos of the parts of the book I used for each lesson, however I would suggest that you try to get a copy of the book yourself as it will support in the teaching of the scheme (and is a beautiful book!).
