Speed reading of key and high frequency words, There is one activity sheet for Years 1/2 of high frequency words and a further sixteen sheets for Years 4/5. There are ten words on each sheet which are repeated across five columns in random order. At the bottom of the sheet there is a space for children to record the time it takes to read the whole sheet.
I have found when I have done this as 1:1 activity, children love seeing how much quicker they get each time they read over the week. Doing this once a day (I used registration time) is really beneficial and I have had a lot of success using this method.
