2D Shape Mats Activity

A set of sheets using shape cards which need to be placed in the appropriate boxes. A hands on activity to sort shapes rather than the usual worksheet.

Print and laminate the three cards (corners, sides and names).
Print and cut out the shapes - I used coloured card but they can be laminated instead, or on white for the children to colour in.
The recording sheet is used to combine all the information from the cards, the pupils are asked to draw the shape, name it and then record the number of sides and corners.

Shapes included: triangle, square, rectangle, circle, oval, hexagon, pentagon, octagon, trapezium and diamond
