This is a well written essay that was highly marked in school about the significance of the NAACP to the overall Civil Rights Movement. It looks at Direct Action, Presidents, including Truman, Eisenhower and Kennedy, and the significance of World War 2 for the advancement of African Americans in the USA. It is 2,000 words long and is the perfect A-Level essay - mine was photocopied for my year as an example essay so I hope this can be helpful for others as a teaching resource.

It’s original title is ‘The work of the NAACP was undoubtedly the most important factor in the progress and achievements of the civil rights movement between 1945-60.’
