Powerpoint and pdf files for questions and explanations reviewing A Level Physics - Acceleration. All exam boards (AQA, OCR, etc.)
Slides can easily be cut and pasted into other resources as a starter/‘do now’, or as a plenary covering the basics. Students can use these for revision purposes.
Each question focuses on simple, but common errors that are made during an exam.
When using the resources, encourage students to set out their answers clearly as practice, using correct significant figures, or re-writing algebraic formula.
Content:

  • Use the equation 𝑎 ̅=Δv/Δ𝑡
  • Understand that the gradient of a velocity-time graph is the acceleration
  • Use the 𝑠𝑢𝑣𝑎𝑡 equations for uniform acceleration:
    𝑣=𝑢+𝑎𝑡
    𝑠=1/2 (𝑢+𝑣)𝑡
    𝑠=𝑢𝑡+1/2 𝑎𝑡^2
    𝑣^2=𝑢^2+2𝑎𝑠
