Acquired Brain Injury supporting information document

The supporting information document is a practical resource to assist healthcare and educational professionals sharing information when a child returns to education following an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). It highlights the important information schools should have to optimally support the child.

It includes:

• Basic information about the nature of the injury
• Child/Young Person’s understanding of their needs
• Child/Young persons strengths and interests prior to the injury
• Impact of the ABI (cognition and learning, social, emotional, etc.)
• What do peers/friends know?
• What works in the classroom?
• Things that don’t help at school
