This lesson explores the Afghan War from 2001 to 2021, focusing on the causes, key events, and consequences of the conflict. It covers the US-led invasion following the 9/11 attacks, the fight against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, and the eventual withdrawal of US forces. Activities include analysing primary sources, creating timelines, and discussing the impact of the war on Afghanistan and the international community. Students will engage in critical thinking exercises to understand the complexities and outcomes of the war.
