This is a short scheme of work for Year 7 - which looks at devising using a variety of different stimuli. The students will create a new piece each lesson, with a different focus. There could be a through theme, so each lesson links with the last to build on a longer performance, or they could be completely individual. The assessment lesson will allow the students to put all their new skills into practice.

I like the idea of a new "thing" (music, picture, etc.) as a stimulus each lesson and it is easy to adapt to fit a running theme, if desired. The first lesson is really good and contains a lot of content; the next 3 are less detailed and just teach students how to use different stimuli, rather than building on skills.
