A work sheet to help students focus on the analysis of quotations taken from AQA poetry from different cultures and the appropriate detail required. Students are provided with three 'themed&' quotations from different poems and asked to consider: the poet&';s feelings, a linguistic or structural feature, a single word to analyse in detail and their own feelings linked to the poet's purpose. &'Blank&'; copies are included so that the quotations can be written in by the students.

very useful practical exercise. This will really help me with children who , despite your best efforts, still can't grasp the idea that points need to be backed up with EVIDENCE from the poems ( PEE ) supported with an explanation in your own words. I've tried so may ways to reinforce this and luckily most students do become skilled in their essays writing. However, there are always a few, especially at the start of their GCSE studies, who need that extra attention. This will do the trick for both beginners and those revising. Thanks very much.
