Ancient Rome - Invasion of Britain SOW

This scheme of work is suitable for Upper Key Stage 2 classes.
It focuses on:

• Roman culture
• Roman rule
• Army (tactics, weaponry and warfare)
• Romans in Britain

This scheme of work has been taught to a Year 5 class but can be adapted for Years 4- 6.

It is designed for a knowledge and vocabulary driven curriculum, complete with targeted vocabulary for each lesson, objectives based on the National Curriculum and clear learning objectives.

A complementary topic cover page is included to be used throughout the unit as a revision tool and glossary.

Targeted Vocabulary Key:

• Green = Vocabulary Dozen (subject specific and linked to Topic Cover page)
• Orange = familiar language linked to individual lessons
• Red = (SEN focused, with word banks in mind)
