A lesson that introduces the new specification AQA English language Paper 1.
The lesson focuses on an extract from The Return of Sherlock Holmes.
Students consider what AQA means by structure and then begin to apply their knowledge to the text. The lesson is structured so that students annotate the text as they work and begin to plan a response and then create a model answer as a class. There is then an opportunity for students to apply their learning and write a Q3 response following a clear paragraphing structure.
