AQA Entry Level 2 Maths - Measures

These resources have been designed for students working towards the AQA Entry Level Certificate in Maths who are working at Entry Level 2. They contain an age-appropriate, 130-slide PowerPoint lesson and a 30-page workbook on measures.

These resources will help pupils to achieve the following learning outcomes:

choose appropriate standard units of length, capacity and weight
compare and order lengths, capacities and weights in the same units
select a possible length, capacity or weight for a given item
measure and draw a length using a ruler
estimate the weight, capacity or length of items
use knowledge of measures to solve real-life problems

Workbook

The 30-page workbook includes 8 explanation pages, 20 worksheets (with answers) 2 progress checks and a certificate of achievement on measures. It is available in PDF and an editable PowerPoint version. It is ideal for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.

PowerPoint Lesson

The editable PowerPoint lesson clearly explains all the skills needed to achieve the above learning outcomes. There are many examples and opportunities in the PowerPoint for students to practice and apply their measuring skills to solve real-life time problems. It also contains links to several short videos on measure. It is ideal for introducing students to this component of the specification and for revision purposes.
