Basic division activity and worksheets for SEN, Early Years, Pre-schoolers and Primary.
Low ability- print out the number of pages you want to divide by (2, 3, 4,5). Use real life objects such as cubes, teddies, pencils, pennies, sweets for the child to sort on to the different item. Laminate the pictures (bag, plate, bowl) to reuse.
Middle and higher ability- use the worksheets to divide the pictures of fruit in to 2, 3 or 4. Can cut out and glue or if laminated the sheets can be used over again. Teacher/ Teaching Assistant can module the sums, then the child can divide/sort the objects.
Extension get the child to write out the sum for the different amount of fruit they have just sorted, explain that they have just divided by 2, 3 or 4.
Ask them to tell you the answers to the sums they have just completed without using the worksheets to check their understanding. Get them to repeat the activities as needed.
