An in-depth exploration of Bayonet Charge by Ted Hughes in this 2 - 3 lesson unit. Including a detailed and engaging teaching of content, writer's methods, with animated, complete annotation, atmospheric video clips and exploration of the of influence of the poets' context. Also including modelling of analytical writing in response to the poem. This lesson provides group opportunities guiding pupils development of AO1, AO2 and AO3 literature, and specifically, poetry skills. Also including suggested independent further development strategies to ensure a broad understanding of the writer, his work and the genre as a whole.
