These 9 worksheets provide an introduction to measuring and drawing three figure bearings beginning by looking at the 8 points of the compass. The practical uses of bearings in the real world are emphasised by requiring students to work through word problems with varying levels of support.
There is a lot of opportunity for practising measuring and drawing angles up to 360°. Revise angle vocabulary and apply basic angle facts.
As an additional feature sone of the examples also require diagrams to be measured so the map scale can be used to find the actual real life distance.

These are basically good worksheets, poorly designed for printing. The pdf supplied has. The idea is that you have the blank worksheets and the worked examples. If you print the sheets double sided you end up with a dog's dinner of worksheets, only some of which have worked examples, and all jumbled up. Some sheets are repeated without worked examples (either do the examples or strip them out).<br /> Actions<br /> 1) Download the pdf. and check <br /> 2) Make the first n sheets into something that can be printed double sided for the student<br /> 3) Order the example sheets at the end for the teacher<br /> 4) insert a blank sheet if required to separate the 2 sections so that they can be printed as a pack<br /> 5) Check your work again
Nice progression through the skills needed and a good amount of practice provided.
