The activity was completed over three hours with a high ability YR7 class. Students worked in mixed ability groups (with the lead game maker as the G&T student) to design their own arena, mutation and descriptive piece before presenting to the rest of the class.
Good for challenging the more able and promoting independent learning.
Students really enjoyed this lesson.

A fantastic print and teach resource-my Year 8 class was engaged and enthusiastic about this lesson. I didn't do the starter as we don't have a class set of the novel (we are working from the film) so I didn't have extracts easy to hand. Fantastic lessons came from this resource and some great creative thinking too!
