This scheme of learning is designed to be used during Black History Month to explore the works of Black artists including; Toyin Odutola, Palesa Monareng, Jean Michel Basquiat and Alfred Conteh.

This download contains 8 lessons, starter activities, artist introductions, outcome evaluation questions, reference images and students outcome examples.

Students will have the opportunity to explore the following media; graphite pencil, white pencil, drawing inks, printing inks, oil pastels, acrylic paint, clay and marbling inks.

Students will have the opportunity to explore the following techniques; drawing, mono printing with printing inks, colour mixing with acrylic paint, impasto, painting and relief sculpting.

The scheme activities can be rearranged in any order that would be appropriate
