Crossword and Wordsearch & Describe activities allow revision of the characters in Blood Brothers. Show character progression throughout the play by revisiting the Wordsearch & Describe throughout study of the play.

These printable resources, (prints 2 per A4 sheet for crosswords and 1 per A4 sheet for wordsearch and describe) are ideal starter or plenary tasks, allowing assessment for learning, checking recall of key terms and spelling. These can be revisited at any point during the teaching of the unit to assess pupil knowledge retention.

A step beyond standard wordsearches, these demand pupils provide a description of each character they are searching for - a basic description appears on the animated powerpoint slide, which pupils can further develop. Crosswords require attention to spelling and recall of content from clues provided.

Also included are animated powerpoint slides to drop into your own lesson presentation, enabling self assessment or peer assessment.

Wordsearches produced using an algorithm which checks and avoids any inappropriate words appearing in the grid, however, your own proofreading is a final check for the placement of any unintended words created by random letter combinations.
