When pupils are given time to read in class, as well as enjoying the book they can also be looking to learn from the author and steal some of their good ideas! Book Burglars gives pupils a clear framework for how to achieve this! While reading, they simply make note of examples of what makes the writing great such as varied punctuation, sentence structure, metaphors/similes, conjunctions and much more! Children can earn points for the great aspects of writing they gather which can be transferred to any positive behaviour policy.
