Britain before the Anglo-Saxons is an introduction to the Saxons and Vikings unit in our KS3 curriculum. This unit can fit into thematic frameworks under migration and trade, or chronology as a starting point for year 7. Its LO is to to understand British migration before the Anglo-Saxons and addressing the enquiry, ‘did people come to Britain to raid, settle, conquer or other?’

Skills covered: Source analysis skills, judgments and new knowledge.

Resources required: Invasion, Plague and Murder textbook is recommended, although the reading task can be replaced with online resources if necessary.
