Celebrating Diwali Pattern Work

A resource to help celebrate Diwali.
Page 1 of the resource shows 10 small pictures of patterns that can be used in various ways:

1. To make a Rangoli - children can look up the meaning of a rangoli
2. For tracing over / colouring in or duplicated for matching

Page 2 Shows an example of how some of the pictures on sheet 1 can be used to make a Rangoli. There is a blank circle for children to try recreating the Rangoli pattern or for them to make up their own pattern.

Pages 3 to 12 show the small pictures from page 1 enlarged. There is one picture per page.

Children can use these in different ways:

1. Tracing
2. Colouring with felt pens, crayons, paint or pencils
3. Adding coloured sand to make patterns
4. Adding coloured glitter or glitter glue to make patterns
5. Enlarge for group work
