Here is a short 3-4 weeks scheme focused on poetry, suitable for KS3, looking at the key themes of marginalisation, identity, tone and imagery.

Each lesson contains differentiated learning objectives, a range of starter and review tasks, as well as periodical homework tasks and breakdowns of key words and definitions useful for understanding poetry at KS3, focused around Checking Out Me History by John Agard.

There are approximately 6-8 full 1 hour lessons which can be easily modified or changed if needed, depending on your lesson length and ability of learners.
