Children’s Mental Health Week: “I am amazing!” Celebrating Character Strengths

**This worksheet can be used with EYFS, KS1 or KS2 children. **

The teacher’s guide gives suggestions for adapting the activity to each age group / child’s writing ability. The guide also provides further information about Character Strengths (where to read more about them and the research).

This worksheet encourages children to think about their CHARACTER STRENGTHS.

There is extensive research evidence about the value of character strengths in supporting wellbeing: From understanding and celebrating one’s own strengths, to recognising and celebrating the strengths of others, to using the language of strenghts in everyday conversation and when giving children feedback. Deliberately practising particular strengths, such as Gratitude, Hope and Love, can also support wellbeing improvements.

ABOUT THE RESOURCE CREATOR:

I am Frederika Roberts (The Happiness Speaker), a former secondary MFL teacher. Now, I work as a positive psychology trainer, speaker, lecturer, researcher and author.

I have an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and am currently undertaking research (into the use of Appreciative Inquiry to increase whole school wellbeing) for my EdD (Doctor of Education).
