A template for a consensus mat which can be used in multiple lessons.
The main idea behind it is to create a group working task in which children can share their own ideas around a topic in their own respective box. Then, the children will discuss the ideas written in their box and reach a consensus on the subject.
For example: in history, a consensus mat can be used to discuss the most important factor a civilisation has given modern day life- democracy, Olympics, alphabet etc for the Ancient Greeks. Children would then write their answers in their box and discuss their ideas to reach a conclusion/consensus in the middle oval.
Ideal subjects: history, geography, science, English, guided reading, and more.
